  1. What is UL?
The UL Marks are some of the most recognized Logos in the US. They are the Registered Trademarks of Underwriters Laboratories Inc., an independent, not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organization. The UL Marks appear on more than 14 Billion Products Yearly. The Organization was founded in 1894 and has long been the undisputed leader in the US for Independent Product Safety Testing and is one of the most recognized and respected organizations in the World. According to their statistics, in 1998 UL evaluated almost 90,000 Products, had customers in 88 Countries and had 171 Inspection Centers Worldwide.

  2. Why UL marking?
There are Different types of UL Marks that mean different things. In General, a product carrying one of these Marks means that a Sample of that product had passed it's specialized testing procedures and was found to be safe when used for the purposes for which it was intended. These Products are also periodically checked by UL at the Manufacturing Facility.

The UL Mark on a product means that UL has tested representative samples of that product and determined that they meet UL's rigorous requirements. Once a product receives UL certification, our involvement with a product doesn't end there. Through factory inspections, UL continues to ensure the safety and quality of UL certified products giving you a higher level of assurance in your on-going manufacturing processes.

As one of the most recognized, accepted and trusted symbols in the world, the UL Mark says something about the products you carry; it says that you care about your customers' safety.
